WHO AM I?

AND WHY SHOULD YOU LISTEN TO ME?

I have been writing professionally since 2015 under the name Martina McAtee where I was a USA Today Bestselling Author.

I was also broke.

In 2019, I switched to writing M/M romance and everything changed from there. From 2020 to today, I've grown my Patreon following from $32 a month to (at the time of writing this) between $17.5k to $21k a month. I've also created a thriving merch store and recently moved into direct sales. My Patreon earnings have allowed me to survive market slumps, non-release months, and corporate policy changes. Last year, I made a little over half a million dollars, half of which was made without royalties. This year, I have already exceeded that with only 15% of my revenue coming from Kindle Unlimited.

I've helped others grow their Patreon following, and I can help you, too.

"Before learning about Patreon from Onley, I never thought I could do it. It seemed like a huge commitment of time and energy, and as I’m a slower writer, I worried it would impact my publishing schedule. I’m so glad I ignored my own fears and listened to Onley. I love the instant gratification I get from posting chapters and little ficlets for my patrons, and I’m actually writing more thanks to the boost of energy their comments give me. After four months, my Patreon is thriving and I couldn’t have done it without Onley’s help."

Pro tips from Onley I followed:
  • Promote my Patreon everywhere on a consistent basis. Don’t think of your Patreon launch as a one-and-done promo opportunity. You have to keep driving traffic to it. Every time I mention in my newsletter what new content is available on my Patreon, I get new subscribers.
  • Added Public posts and drove traffic to them from other sources, including a public post with an exclusive bonus scene for a new release.
  • When setting up tiers, I made promises I could keep. I’m a slower writer, so I only promised one chapter per month.
  • I keep a consistent schedule by posting on Mondays to all tiers and Thursdays to my upper tiers. Not all content on my Patreon requires writing time from me. Polls, graphics, cover reveals, etc. require less time from me. I schedule as many posts as I can in advance, basically keeping my Patreon commitment to one writing day per month. After that, it’s checking on comments and questions, like I do on my other social channels.
